Meet Joanne Horowitz
Negligence, personal injuries, construction accidents, and medical malpractice law are the primary areas in which Joanne Horowitz concentrates her practice. An experienced injury lawyer, Joanne has been associated with Fellows Hymowitz & Epstein since 1998. She conducts much of the research involved in the firm's cases, writing briefs in connection with motions and appeals. Joanne analyzes the issues of law to persuade the court in the client's favor and often, to enhance the value of a case. Joanne appears frequently in court as well, where she has also argued appeals for the firm.
Asked what drew her to the practice of personal injury law, Joanne says, "It is the personal aspect of this area that attracts me. I am dealing with events and issues that affect people's day-to-day lives. They have had an accident or there has been an event that has a serious impact on their lives. In some cases, they may need medical treatment and household help for years. My work enables me to get involved in helping them to redress that injury and get the help they need.
A longtime Rockland resident, Joanne Horowitz earned her B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. from New York Law School. She is a member of the Rockland County Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Married with two teenage children, Joanne is also an active member of a Rockland charity that organizes visits to the sick and volunteers to drive people in need to doctors' appointments.
